Public Works are "works" that provide facilities and services essential for "public" use or enjoyment. Our responsibilities are to the citizens in providing a safe and clean community in which to live
The Winchester Public Works and Engineering Technician Department employs sixteen persons and has more than twenty-two vehicles and equipment to carry out its service for over 76 miles of streets. Public Works is responsible for Street Right-of-Way Maintenance as well as Sidewalk Removal, Traffic Signals, Storm Water Drainage, Brush, Leaf, and Snow Removal, Street Cleaning, Street Signs, Engineering and Road Projects.
